Product Information

The accommodation property rents out bed in shared dorm, 4-person rooms , double rooms and apartments. All rooms (besides the apartments) share common facilities such as bathrooms, living area and a guest kitchen. Bed linen and one towel are included. The guest has to put on bedding himself/herself. For longer stays, room cleaning and change of bed linen can be arranged upon request. Extra towel can be rented from the reception. The reception is staffed every day from 08am till 10pm. In some cases we arrange for late check-in, please let us know when booking.

1. Prices

You will always get the same fare or cheaper by booking directly through the hostel. 

Student and Pilgrim prices

RUMI offers 25% lower prices on private rooms to certain guest categories*. Students/pilgrims also get special prices on dorms. Following terms to be fulfilled:
 

  • 1.1  Student: The student need to show valid student ID at time of check-in. This need to be written in either Norwegian or English. The discount only applies to fulltime students at universities or other higher education institutions, the discount does not apply to students at high school. The student ID must include full name, birth date and photo. along with confirmation of paid school tuition from a study program with a semester duration of three months or more.
     

  • 1.2  Pilgrim: A valid 'Pilgrim Passport'​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​  with a "golden sticker" from 2024 need to be presented at time of check-in. The passport is a proof of pilgrimage and is issued at Nidaros Pilgrim Center. Valid throughout the year of pilgrimage.

The lower prices only applies to accommodation, not parking and other services.

Under extra ordinary high season, the discount will not be availible. In cases where these terms are not met, the guest obliges to pay full price at check-in. 
* These prices does not apply for group reservations (please read more on pt 8).
 

2. Reservations

The hostel reserves the right for any printing errors regarding price and other services on this site. Please contact us if you have any questions.

3. Booking Conditions

3.1  A booking is binding when it has been confirmed and you have received a confirmation. We will request your full name, telephone number and e-mail address. You will receive a booking confirmation by e-mail. This confirmation is a proof that you, as a guest, have been booked a room for the specified period.

 

3.2  You must be at least 18 years old to book a room at RUMI. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. No persons under the age of 18 can stay in dorms.

3.3  Children up to the age of 2 are staying free of charge, whereas children over this age are considered guests in the same way as adults.

3.4  Maximum number of nights bookable in dorms are five [5]

4. Withdrawal

There is no right of withdrawal in accordance with the Right of Withdrawal Act regarding travel and residence.

 

5. Payment

We demand full payment by the time of reservation. For drop-in guests, payment is done by card, and we accept both Mastercard and VISA. RUMI is a cashless hostel, so it is preferable with card payment.

 

6. Check-in and check-out

                 Check-in:         3.00 pm - 10.00 pm
                 Check-out:      12.00 pm (noon) 
Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged, come speak to the receptionist. If planning to check-in later, contact the reception in advance to check if that is possible. At 10pm, guests that has not already checked in, and that has no agreement on late check-in, will be marked as no-show. Valid ID with photo has to be presented by all guests at check-in. For international guests, passports and European ID-cards are valid. All guests has to be registered with their full name and nationality.

Guests must remove their own bedding and place it in a trolley under the stairs at the reception. Keys are delivered to reception staff or in a key deposit box at reception. A fee of NOK 1500 is charged per lost key and will be charged at the time of check out.

7. Cancellation Policy | No-show
 

                Cancellation before 3.00pm, 2 days prior to check-in:                             100% refund
                Cancellation less than 2 days before check-in                                          0% refund
                No-show:                                                                                                          0% refund
 

7.1  Cancellations of bookings must be sent in writing to info@rumi.no, marked with «cancellation» and booking number as specified in the booking confirmation. 

7.2  For group bookings and longer stays, cancellation policy varies and will be annonced at time of booking.

7.3  For bookings made through third party sites such as Expedia.no, Booking.com and Hotels.com, cancellation must be done directly through them, and different policy will apply.

7.4  In case of no-show on day of check-in (at 10pm), the whole reservation incl. all night will be cancelleded with no refund, unless it is notified in advanced that check-in will happen on a later day.
 

7.5  Unused days will not get refunded.

8. Group reservations

Organizations and companys that wants to reserve rooms for a group or do payment by invoice, will need to send us a written request for us to send an offer. Note that groups and other business partners will get other prices and terms and conditions. These will be presented at time of booking.

9. Personal Data

RUMI processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Act. Information that can be linked to you as an individual will never be available to other companies or be linked to external registers.

 

10. Alcohol

We do permit consumation of alcohol in the hostel’ except inside shared dormetories. While we encourage guests to have a blast, let's remember to strike that perfect balance between fun and consideration for others.

11. Pets

RUMI love cats and dogs, and your four-legged friend is of course welcome to join you on your stay! Pets are allowed in all room categories besides shared dormetories. Due to extra cleaning, an additional fee of 200 NOK will be applied per stay. However, we kindly ask that you ensure your pet don't disturb other guests during their stay. Your pet are not allowed in the common areas.

12. Your security

Please pay attention to the location of emergency exits, alarms and fire extinguishers. For more information, please consult the information board placed on the inside of your hotel room door.

13. Surveillance

To ensure the safety and well-being of our guests, we would like to inform you that surveillance cameras have been installed in several of the hostel's public areas.
 

The purpose of the surveillance cameras is to:

  • Prevent and document any criminal activity or unwanted behavior.

  • Enhance security for both guests and hostel staff.

  • Deter theft of guests' belongings and protect the hostel's property in general.
     

The footage from the surveillance cameras will be used exclusively for security purposes and will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. We take your privacy seriously, and the recordings will not be shared with third parties unless necessary to maintain security and comply with the law.

14. Insurance

We recommend that all our guests buy cancellation insurance with their own insurance company, which covers cancellations in case of illness, among other things. In addition, we recommend that all our guests have valid travel insurance.

 

15. Damage

The person who made the booking is financially responsible for any damage to hotel rooms, fixtures or other equipment caused by the guest.

16. House Rules

16.1 It is not allowed to let other people into the building/room than those listed as guests. If there is a special need for this, an agreement with the hostel has to be made in advance.

16.2 It is not allowed to party in the rooms or in the common areas. It must be quiet by 11:00 pm both indoors and in the outdoor area.

16.3 When using the guest kitchen, you should always wash up after yourself and leave the kitchen in the same state as before use. You are welcome to store food in the refrigerator and freezer. All food must be placed in paper bags (available in the kitchen) and marked with name and departure date. Unmarked food placed in the refrigerator or the freezer or in expired bags will be thrown.
 

16.4 All personal belongings should at all times be stored in your own room/locker. Items left behind in shared bathrooms, common area or kitchen (besides marked food), will be removed and may be thrown.

17. Fource Majoure

In the case of events beyond our control such as strikes, fire, extreme weather and other things that make the stay or activity impossible, we reserve the right to cancel the stay or activity without further liability to pay compensation. Generally bad weather which is to be considered normal for the time of year in our region - is not in itself grounds for cancellation and does not change the current cancellation rules.
